INSTRUCTORS AND PERFORMERS
ROBERTO PAGAN & ROSA GUILIANA PAREDES-  partnered up in 2008, winning the following titles: Triple Threat –1st place (Disco America ‘08), Strictly Hustle –1st place (World Hustle Dance Championships ‘08), Classic Hustle—1st place (Madjam ‘09), Theater Arts Hustle & Cabaret—1st place (Disco America ‘09), Theater Arts Hustle & Salsa Showcase– 1st place (Swing Fling ‘09), Salsa—1st place (NY Hustle Congress’09) , World Hustle Championship– 1st place (World Hustle Dance Championship ‘09), and Just Hustle & Open Hustle Championships – 1st place (Swing Fling ’10). Roberto Pagan has won over 200 titles in five professional divisions in the United States, Canada and England. For the last three years, Roberto has won top Hustle Instructor in the country by DanceTalk.

NEW YORK EXPRESS DANCE COMPANY- This dance troop has performed for events and affairs that range from the most intimate of private parties to the largest of arena and theaters, across the United States, Europe and Asia. They have wowed audiences in the Catskills, the Poconos, Atlantic City and throughout New York City at venues such as Roseland, the United Nations, the Waldorf Astoria, The Plaza, the Rainbow Room and Tavern on the Green. Along with New York Express, Mr. Pagan has opened for and performed with Liza Minelli, Joel Grey, Richard Simmons, Perry Como, Crown Heights Affair, The Village People, Karen Lynn Gorney (from Saturday Night Fever), Howie Mandell, Pat Cooper, Clint Holmes and Joy Behar to name a few. Mr. Pagan has also organized and performed at corporate events for United Artists, Clairol, Cannon, MTV, American Express, Dupont, Reebook, IBM and many more.

ALFONSO TRIGGIANI- is the artistic director and owner of Touch Dancing Studios. A successful school since 1985. He is an internationally recognized expert in ballroom dancing and whose specialty is the Argentine Tango. Alfonso authored and choreographed the Bronze Argentine Tango syllabus for the National Dance Council of America, the country's professional organization for ballroom dancers, as their official syllabus. Alfonso is currently completing the silver & gold syllabus in the same format. BILLY MARTI- teaches at stepping out studios in Manhattan. Billy was hired with his first dance partner, Nancy Melius, to perform in Israel as a “Fame” dancer with Robert Guillaume and Albert Hague who played Professor Shorofsky. Later Billy was inspired while watching a competition in a nightclub where he discovered his new love for Hustle Theatre Arts. He met Wanda Soto who began teaching him in the art of partnering and soon began dancing and performing with Hustle’s elite dancers of the time. He takes great pride in his ability to thoroughly prepare students for showcase and dance competitions by articulating a music and choreography mix that enhances the student’s individual style, and thus complementing their strengths

 

BOBBI PETRI- master teacher, choreographer and coach, Ms. Bobbi Petri has been teaching social Ballroom, Hustle, Latin and Swing dancing for over twenty years. Prior to teaching and establishing Dance Upon A Time, Bobbi was a multiple Champion Title and Gold medal award winning competitor in Ballroom / Latin and theater arts divisions in major competitions across the country. She has also done showcase performances with her students in many New York nightspots including the NY Hustle Congress / Millennium Hustle, Marc Ballroom and Latin Quarter. Her classes are always full as her students remain devoted to her for years.

LORI BRIZZI- is the event director of “The New York Hustle Congress”. She was voted "Person of the Year", two years in a row by the readers of DanceTalk, the country's largest newsletter for hustle dancing. She was a featured performer of such prestigious dance companies as American Ballroom Theater and Swing Dance America. She has performed at Lincoln Center, the Rainbow Room, the Copacabana, Latin Quarter, and other NYC night clubs. She has also made numerous TV and movie appearances. A renewed love of Hustle inspired her to start a monthly NYC dance party, Millennium Hustle, featuring Hustle, Salsa, and West Coast Swing and now Ballroom dancing.

DIANE NARDONE- began dancing Hustle in the early 70's with the Hustle Kings dance troop, taught at the famous Dales Dance studio's in NY and went on to open her own studio. She is still teaching, performing and competing. She has appeared in motion pictures and is the sole organizer of the annual "World Hustle Dance Championships".

 

STEPHANIE RISSER- began her dance training with Carolyn Trythall at what is now Lancaster School of Ballet, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Stephanie then attended the University of Hartford/School of the Hartford Ballet BFA program, where she had many opportunities to perform and the chance to work with Hartford Ballet.  After graduating with a BFA in Dance Pedagogy Stephanie returned to Lancaster where she taught for Lancaster School of Ballet and worked with Ballet Theater of Lancaster. In 2002, she moved to Philadelphia, where as well as starting and directing a ballet program, she began teaching Ballroom and Latin.  Stephanie has won numerous Hustle competitions including IHSC, Disco America, MadJam, and World Hustle Championships.  She has also been competing in West Coast Swing and is the 2010 AANCE Jack & Jill Champion.

BRIAN GALLAGHER- Being part of "One of the most celebrated Hustle teams of the decade", who was Professional Theater Arts Hustle Champions and undefeated "Professional Just Hustle Champions”. Over the last decade he has won every major Hustle competition. Brian has an ability to break down dance patterns to help you understand the four major components for a comfortable lead and follow: movement, framework, footwork, and timing. It doesn't matter whether you are a beginner learning your basics or the advanced dancer learning travel, shaping, and/or syncopations.

DANNY MCGEE- is founder and co-owner of Top Hat Dance Studio as well as Top Hat Dance Studio School of Ballet. For over 15 years, Daniel has continued to teach, perform and compete in the Ballroom, Latin, and Hustle dance forms. He is currently one of the top ranked competitors in the country and undefeated in the Pro/Am Theatre Arts Hustle division. Daniel is currently on the board of the International Hustle Dance Association. In addition, Daniel received his Associate certification in International Standard with a "Highly Commended" score by the ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance) in 2007. In 2008, Daniel recieved, "with Honors" his ISTD Licentiate Theatre Arts certification.

GINNY CAREY- is from Lancaster PA. After attending the University of the Arts, studying ballet, tap, jazz, modern and partnering, performance and choreography, Ginny now calls Philadelphia home. She currently teaches at Top Hat Dance Studio where she performs with ladies salsa company “Ahi Nama” and is professional competitive partners with owner Daniel McGee. Most recently they have placed in the top 3 at several competitions including IHSC, Mad Jam, Disco America, Miami Dance Magic, and Hooray for Hollywood.

JAMESON KILLBURN- is co-owner of Top Hat Dance Studio of Philadelphia and Lancaster where he can be found teaching group classes and private lessons in Ballroom, Latin, Swing, & Hustle. For the past 10 years Jameson has continued to study, teach, compete, and perform in the arena of professional partner dancing. Recently Jameson received a score of "Highly Commended" on his certification examinations in the International Standard dancing in 2007 and also received a score of "with Honours" on his certification examinions in Theater Arts in 2008 with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD). Jameson is also a proud member of the National Dance Council of America (NDCA) and has been an active board member of the International Hustle Dance Association (IHDA) for the past 5 years.

MICHAEL PAGAN- has danced in the U.S. and internationally for over twenty years in ballroom and latin, jazz, hip-hop, musical theater, and country western with Roberto Pagan NEW YORK EXPRESS DANCE COMPANY and Maria Torres- EMERGY ARTISE, and is the Dance Director of Unity in Motion Dance. 

KATIE MILES- currently holds a B.A. in Dance from Queens College.  She has studied Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Modern for the past thirteen years and is currently a choreographer and teacher for two dance studios in New York.  Katie is currently a dancer in the Circle of Dance Repertory, a modern dance company. She has studied Latin ballroom and has danced with Michael Pagan for the last four years.

 FREDERIC SHIPLEY & DEBORAH DAVIS- are the owners and Directors of Ballroom Break Dance Studio in Lewisberry, PA. Fred and Deb have trained with the top dance coaches in the world, and have worked for various cruise lines as guest teachers and entertainers. Both Fred and Deb are certified by the most prestigious professional ballroom dance organization in the world: the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (I.S.T.D) as teachers, competing professionals, and adjudicators. Deborah is an adjunct faculty member at Penn State Harrisburg and Harrisburg Area Community College.

STEPHANIE FALCIANO- earned a bachelor’s degree in Theater & Dance from Hofstra University.  In 1998 she ranked 1st nationally in the U.S. Rising Star Rhythm Championship division. In 2002 she was an American Rhythm and show dance open finalist in several competitions and winner of the American Star Ball 2006 show dance. Stephanie is a member of I.S.T.D., N.D.C.A., and the U.S. Terpsichore Association. Licentiate Degrees are in International Latin, Standard, Theatre Arts, American Rhythm & Smooth.
VINCENT ANTONELLI- has been performing and competing for over 20 years. He holds titles in American Rhythm at USBC with his former partner. He is a master in the theatre arts division and has coached many couples in these areas. He has extensive training in American Rhythm, American Smooth, Int. Latin and Int. Standard.

DONNA BOYLE- founder of Disco America Dance Championships. Philadelphia's own Donna was the regional dance champion on the national TV show "Dance Fever". For 20 years, she has been competing performing, and exciting audiences with her polished and sensual style. Donna is the choreographer and principal dancer of the "Disco America Dance Troupe". She performed for acts such as: Billy Crystal, Tu-Pac, Sammy Hager, Deney Terrio of Dance Fever, etc. Her TV credits include: Discophonic scene and on the air with the Geater; 1999 QVC National Dance Promotion; 2 appearances at the Phillies game with the Phillie Phanatic; Good Day Philadelphia (with Dick Clark); 1999 PBS show "Dancing" aired in England; and two appearances on the CBS nationally syndicated competition " Dance Fever" in Los Angeles.
